Bruhath Nirgundyadi Tailam is an Ayurvedic oil for treating Sinusitis and upper respiratory infections. This oil is prepared in sesame oil as well as coconut oil base. This comes from the Ashtavaidya tradition of Kerala.

For the preparation of Drava dravya:

Cow’s milk – 2 litre
Sesame oil –  5 kg

METHOD OF PREPARATION

Firstly we should make swarasa of Nirgundi leaf. After making, we should add kalka and mix it well. After few hours, when it attains its consistency, we can add milk extracted from coconut and continues the boiling. Once it attains the khara paka, we can filter it.

Points to be noted

For ear pain, this oil is used in an Ayurveda treatment method called Karnapoorana.

DOSE WITH USAGE OF Bruhath Nirgundyadi Thailam

Nirgundyadi Tailam is used for external applications only. The affected skin area is applied with this oil, left as it for 10 – 15 minutes, and then washed with lukewarm water. This oil is also advised to apply before bath.

EXERCISE AND YOGA FOR Bruhath Nirgundyadi Thailam

Exercise can temporarily relieve nasal congestion. The increase in circulation clears sinus pressure and allows for easier breathing. Aerobic is a successful exercise for clearing congestion.

Anulom Vilom Pranayama, Bhujangasana, Ustrasana can practiced.
