Ayurvedic Treatment for BLEPHAROSPASM

Ayurvedic Treatment for Blepharospasm is based on Ayurvedic concept of Vata dosha derangement. In Ayurveda, such condition is comparable with Kruchronmeelana which is postulated to be resultant of vata vitiation. Due to the causative factors, excess vitiation of doshas occur in the body, vitiated doshas move through the ‘netranadi’ to the eyes. Doshas particularly vata accumulated in the eyelids produce involuntary blinking.    Blepharospasm is the involuntary blinking or twitching of the eyelids.

The patient has to close his one nostril (e.g. left nostril if using the right hand and vice versa) with the thumb and exhale completely through the other nostril. Again, he will have to breathe in deeply through the other nostril while the opposite nostril is still closed with the thumb.
