Maharasnadi Kashayam Tablets are polyherbal decoction tablets used to treat Neuro-hormonal diseases affecting the whole body. Rasna- Alpinia galangal is the main ingredient, which has a very specific action in neurologic disorders. This tablet along with appropriate adjuvants is used to treat Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Paralysis, Fibromyalgia and other neurologic disorders.

Rasna- Alpinia galanga
This herb belongs to Zingiberaceae family and the rhizome is the useful part. It has Katu ( Pungent) and Tikta ( Bitter) taste and the properties as per the Bhavaprakasha Nighantu are Vata- Kapha decreasing. Its potency is heating which is against the cold potency of Vata. As a single herb, Rasna is effective against Vata diseases ( Neurologic disorders), Rhinitis, Fever, etc.
Eranda- Ricinus communis
Ricinus communis belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family and the useful part is roots, seed oil and leaves. It’s the main ingredient of so many Ayurvedic formulations like Ashtavargam Kashayam, Chitrakadi Kashayam, Chitrakagrandhikadi kashayam, Dhanadanayanadi Kashayam, Kalyana Ksharam, Punarnavasavam, Brahma Rasayanam, Jivaneeya Ghritham, etc. Its taste is sweet and potency is heating. It’s an excellent aphrodisiac. As a single herb, it’s indicated in Arthritis, Fever, Stomach disorders, Spleen disorders, etc. As per Charak samhita, this herb helps to maintain vitiated Vata and works as an Aphrodisiac.
The leaves are used in herbal poultice in the traditional Ayurveda treatment.
Amrita- Tinospora cordifolia
Guduchi has a great role in maintaining the health needs of ancient India and so-called Amrit means nectar. It belongs to the Menispermaceae family and the useful part is the fresh stem. Its taste is Bitter ( Tikta), Astringent ( Kashaya) and potency is, as expected heating. It is strengthening the body cells, rejuvenating, blood cleansing, appetizing. As a single herb, Guduchi is beneficial in Skin diseases, Fever, Hemorrhoids, Anaemia, Diabetes, Metabolic toxicity, Worms, etc. As per Ashtanga hridaya, this is vata decreasing and blood cleanser. Charak samhita substantiate the actions in Vata decreasing, Appetizing, Kapha decreasing, etc.
